My DIY led build and tank.

    So, Just finished my led build and it came out incredible! Got the all parts from Rapidled.
    12 XP-G r5 cool white
    12 XP-E royal blue
    Mean Well LPC-35-700 (RB),
    Mean Well LPC-60-1050 (cw).
    Heatsink is 25" x 4.25"
    hanging kit
    60degree optics
    2 x 92mm fans
    6 pin xlr chassis (male)
    6 pin xlr connector (female)
    7 conductor 18awg sprinkle wire (solid)

    Made the fixture from 3.5" x .75" poplar
    splash guard is from .093" acrylic

    The drivers and wall wart for 2 fans are behind the tank, run through the 7 conductor wire to the xlr connector behind the fixture.

    fixture is 16" from top of tank

    Tank is 29gallon, Drilled 3 holes, 1 inch drains x 2, return is rio 10hf (360gph@4ft head). 2 x hydor Koralia 2's (600gph each). 10 gallon sump, with DIY ATS, chaeto and live rock rubble in sump. 40lbs live rock fully cured, 6 line wrasse, starry blenny, 1 feather duster. 1 neon Galaxia, 1 rock covered in different zoanthids, 1 hammer coral, 1 GSP. Sugar fine sand.

    Nice touch with the XLR connectors. I wish I would've thought of that myself, I actually used some 4 pin trailer connectors. Yours probably made a nicer finished product. Gotta love DIY rapid fixtures!

    Very nice setup. I totally forgot about XLR connectors, I'll have to remember that when I make my fixture so I don't have 20 wires hanging out the back of it.

    Yes, i bought the trailer plugs, but i didnt use them, thought of the xlr in 6 pin :)!
    Here are some pictures of the fixture, its lights out time, so ill take some pics tommorow with the dslr. Still havent hung up the algae scrubber.

    I bought this decorative expanded aluminum, to go on top, but its up so high you cant see it, and the aluminum is a bit short... so i may use it, i may not.
