I bought my first acro "frags" a green stag horn at a steal. 3 pieces @ about 4-6" each with 2-3 branches each plus the guy threw in a monti frag all for 45 bucks!

I placed them at the top of the tank since they are a shallow reef coral and like strong current. since i've never had one what are there polyps suppopsed to look like? they look large.... i thought they were tiny? Could they be over extending... is this even possible?

I think you're worrying a bit too much, some acros have larger polyps, some have smaller ones. The "fury" looking ones have much larger polyps then say tortuosas. The biggest concern for sps IMO is RTN and bleaching. Your lights should be good. but be aware of what type of lighting they were under before as to not shock them.

I agree, they should be fine. It will take some time before you really see what they look like, because they have to adjust to your lighting.

By the way anything with more than one branch is considered a small colony IMO, so you got an awesome deal.
