    I saw a tutorial on youtube on making acrylic aquariums DIY so I decided to attempt a DIY overflow surface skimmer for my fluval 202 filter.

    Looks good to me! How did you cut the slots in the acrylic?

    I have a milling machine so I used an end mill bit. Im just waiting til tomorrow to put it in the aquarium, but I already tested it and it is water tight.

    I bought one of those surface skimmers fluval makes that connects to the drain line, but it really does not work well. I figured this box would work better and I was surprised no one was making them.

    Edited to add a video. I couldn't wait to try it out. I don't think the weld-on is cured yet but I wanted to see it working.
