Check with the resort, they likely have a "resort course" you can learn the basics at. This is not the recommended way to learn to dive, but it will get you in the water while your there.

kool thanks for the link. the resort has a similar thing. just not sure wich 1s to do. i wish we could do them all but theres just not enough time.

on a side note does any 1 know anything about transportation there? mainly water taxis between san pedro and celize city?

 

I recommend a plane. The water taxi's are essentially big speedboats. It's a long, hot, boring, boat ride. The jet is cool, faster, AND gives an incredible view of the water and reef from above IMO. Not to mention, they got no problem with passengers in the co-pilot seat. Been there myself. Though the view is better in the back.


On San Pedro, you do not need a golf cart every day you are there - don't let them sell you that. But you will want one at least one or two days to get around the island (most hotels rent them).

 

thanks peredhil do you know how to go about arranging the plane and how often the water taxis operate? thats my biggest concern right now, im actually a little nervous about it lol

 

just booked our flight from belize int. airport to san pedro

 

no sweat eh. you can take a golf cart to the hotel from san pedro airport. it's not a huge island; you can walk over and check out the boat docks one day if you're curious.
