    Ok,

So I got my first case of ick on a fish in my tank he seems to be the only one infected. I know I need a QT but, I dont have one at the moment. Is there anything I can do for him in my main tank? I have corals and crabs already in the tank so no copper. Is there another way or should I remove him now and put him in a bucket untill I go to the store to get a tank? \

He started with one spot and was that way for about a week now overnight he has them everywhere.

kick ick which is reef safe.. give that a shot.. spike their food with garlic extract drops.. get a uv sterilizer... those 3 things along with healthy fish.. and you should be ok.. generally if one fish has it they all do or will shortly.. from my experience its like a common cold for fish.. and if they're healthy they'll shake it.. it can't hurt to use the above things as well though.. gluck

I went through an ich problem with my tang 5 or 6 months ago and I ended up fresh water dipping him on 2 separate occasions, then started feeding liquid garlic a couple times a week on the veggie sheets I feed, and it hasn't come back since. I was lucky that none of my other fish got sick either.

I never used to feed Garlic but it's made me a believer, they seem healthier since I started using it.

    Good Luck

    i agree with bloodyshirt

but also be careful if you use a liquid treatments
some are not reef safe and some you have to do a 25% water change for everyday you treat for ick

Try using garlic before going out and buying treatments. Garlic boosts the immune system and will help the fish fight the ick. It's not a cure for ick, but will help the fish overall anyways. You can do this by soaking your food in water and just add garlic to soak it. You can also get garlic extract from LFS or from a store.
