Make sure you put a rock or shell underneath of it so it doesn't attach to the bottom of the tank. Nice addition.

I actually put the skelaton of a dead coral under the sand with the clam on top.
I am more excited about this Clam then anything i've ever put in my tank! They actually had a Crocea/Maxima hybrid which was really small, like 2". They were beautiful! Each one was $100.00. I saw another poster said not to buy any small calms, so i was afraid to buy them. They were sweet, though!

Just a question; I've got my calm on my sandbed with a 250w MH over it. The tanks 29" deep. This should be ok, right? I've got 3-250w MH's total + 2 double bulb actinics, not sure of the wattage on those. Just the MH's it's 750w.

Very nice...you might want to place it actually on a rock in the tank...they are rock boring (sp???) clams and do better in rock.

Make sure you keep your water parems up...need good KH and calcium must stay above 400.

OMG your store had those hybrid clams...have been looking for one and cant find any. Does your store ship? I have read articles about that clam and am DYING to get one!

Very nice clam....you are now officially a clam person...you soon will be adding more and more into your tank. I have 8 in my tank right now!
