i got my first coral today, green open brain.

    couple of questions.

plan on feeding cyclo-p, and micro-vert from Kent. once each a week. does this seem right??? i also feed my fish mini mysis twice a week so i think it will get a hold of that too.

LFS told me to place on a rock about 6 inches below surface. but i thought that it was supposed to be placed on sand, did some more research tonight and seems that i am right... any thoughts?? (6 bulb 48 t5 fixture, sand bed is about 16 inches from water level.

have it kind of in the shade right now, will leave through tomorrow then move it out into the light in a couple days, also have cardboard blocking direct light

anyone know what kind of brain this is specifically

    trachyphyllid geoffroyi ?????????

took some bad pictures with my phone let me know what you think

Looks look more like a wellsophylia to me but it could be a trach.
I don't really feed mine unless I'm bored. They're a super hardy coral though that will eat about anything you put in there.
If it has a hard bottom placing it on a rock will be fine but they are normally found on the sand.
