Today's project was plumbing. Originally I had all soft line and was having trouble with microbubbles. This afternoon I plumed everything with PVC...no more microbubbles.

Thanks for the compliments! My only concern is that the fuge light I have coming tomorrow (Finnex 13 watt) will interfere with the ball valve.

The Fuge light got here today. I could not exactly center due to the ball valve. Think this will work OK?

It looks like it should be fine (the light).

    Nice skimmer.

Also, nice handy work. Could you come over and help me with a plumbing problem or two?;D

anyway that you could get a pc of glass from home depot to fit the the rim of the fuge and put the light the long ways in front of that ball valve?...also, the issue i see in the future is growing a ton of algae inside your skimmer, otherwise get some black plastic and block that light going to the left of the fuge...just a thought. fuge and plumbing looks really good!

You were absolutely right about this. It only took a matter of weeks before I was getting some nasty algae growth on the inside of the skimmer body.
Today I decided to modify the plumping a little so I could center my fuge light and also add a barrier to block the light from the skimmer. I used a extra piece of acrylic I had laying around and covered it with a reflective vinyl.

I also just added a little Mini-Jet 404 to my fuge...it is adjustable from 20gph-106gph. It is very small, keeps a little more movement in my fuge, and has taken care of the cyano and nuisance algae i had in there.
