    I'm in the process of buying my first house also. It's in foreclosure...what a headache this has become :-/.

    OMG yeah we looked at some houses that were on short sale and there is no way I was going to play their little game of "well lets throw a price on a house, make someone think that this is the price, then see if we can get the bank to sell it for that price. What a bunch of bs.

    Yea I was really hesitant at first, but now I think I might actually be stealing the house I'm trying to buy ;D. My father in-law has bought a few foreclosed houses the past year or so using the same broker we are using. We made the first offer and have only raised that offer once. I think the bank is desperate, they're basically giving us the house at the price we offered, which is only about 10% of what the house was worth a couple years ago. It's a hell of an investment if it all goes through.

    Yeah this one was foreclosed but that was already done. We made an offer, they countered and we accepted. It was easy
