    Ro unit

So if i hook up an RO/DI Unit to the main faucet in the kitchen, all my water will be processed? Will this not shorten the length of time the filters last? And lets say i only connect the unit or make a "ON/OFF" bypass switch, how do i prepare the water? would it flow like normal water, or would i have to have a tank or bucket collecting water?

Im new to this hpbby, but not new to the hobby life. Im just finding this hobby a little on the expensive side, but worth every enjoyable moment. If im looking at anemonies and who know what else later down the road, should i consider going bigger on the lights now or buy enough to get me through now and sell to the next lucky newbie at dirt cheap?

Can someone provide additional DIY sites that I can visit and do more research at. Im developing a good "RESOURCE" to look through.

I don't recommend anenome's to reefers because they are not stable and sting your other corals. They are best in a solitary environment with a clown but if you are determined to have one get one with a hosting clown. But beware. As we speak I have an anenome in a bucket that stung my Colt Coral last night and he's going back to the store and I'm done with them. I had a seabae anenome that died inside my reef and I had to take down everything and get him out of there. Just no luck for me with these guys.

For lighting, I would get your final light fixture first. It hurts the wallet at first but having to buy it further down the road it's still going to hurt and then you're left with your "starter" fixture that you can rarely sell for what you paid for it.

Another good resource for general stuff, chemistry etc, is reefkeeping.com. You might have to go through some back issues to get some of the more basic information. Or you can search the site with google like "anemones site:reefkeeping.com" and it will give you a bunch of links to that site.

No no the unit will just screw on and off of your sink. I just hook mine up to my sink and set the oven timer for like 1 to 1 1/2 hours while I top off my sump and then unscrew the unit from my sink and I can use my water as normal.

It's like attaching a sprayer or sprinkler to your hose outside. It screws on and off like that all you need is the attachment. If you want some pics I can get some up when I get home if my explanation isn't clearing it up. I'm not sure how to describe it.
