hey thanks mate, well iv def got alot of questions!! lol i would like to set it up like that, but the fuge, is on the same level as the bottom of my tank, but my tank is twice the height, so it wont be able to drain back, so it will have to just drain into the sump just before the bubble trap, and be pumped up to the tank,
I have just seen some pretty looking fuge's and thought it would be another nice feature, maybe a few shrimps? nice algea, and sand bed? live rock,? any other ideas? lol, see, more questions.
I will have a good look and seek alot of advice on the PS before i make the same mistake, but if big is ok? the future is what i will be thinking about along with good quality!
    thanks again dude, jay

if you haven't bought another skimmer yet the mods for the seaclones work very well, particularly adding a wooden airstone.
i made the same "mistake" now i love the thing!

hi there, i did look at some of the mods, that people have done, as when i first saw what people wrote about the seaclones, i was really dissapointed, so kept on reading, to see if anyone has had positive results, but they are slightly outweighed by the negatives, i could see that the mods do work, but they seem to go out of 'tune' quite alot? how does yours perform with these mods? do they use a normal stone usually? the wooden ones make a much finer air bubble dont they, have you done other mods? i am interested,
also, when i bought it, the guy on ebay said it was the revised, more efficient one? is this possible?
    cheers, jay

i didnt want to break the uplift tube and make it twice as useless so i didnt do that mod,i put a smaller pump on it with no venturi and a pretty serious adjustable{adjustable is important} air pump, i drilled an extra hole in the collection cup cover and fed the wooden stone down to the bottom{getting it in there ws rough} it works incredibly now, pulls alot of gunk out and i haven't had to adjust it since, it still puts bubbles in the tank though, no matter what i did it put bubbles back in the tank. i decided to get used to it instead of fighting it:) so since i already had the airpump i put a stone in each of the display...boom! bubbles didn't look out of place anymore!

    re "...my first mistake!!"

Don't worry...rest assured it is first of many to come.

    Some more painful then others.

Reading through 3Reef Articles, and past threads can sure reduce 99% of the pain...;)
