Before I know anything- about Spectrapure,
I got a real good deal on this RO/DI, that basically came with everything to fit my needs, which were:
-a hilding tank and water tap/faucet for driniing water on my sink- which is also T'd off to my icemaker.
    - The seperate/additonal RO/DI for my ATO, cleaning, water changes, etc.

I bought this model off Ebay and I"m still real happy with it:

    To give you an idea,
I replaced everything except the membrane.
Last I checked, I was still getting about 0 TDS before the change.

As you can see the sediment filter on the left/top, the first carbon, then the second.
As a reference, the new sediment filter, etc. is white as snow.
    That sediment filter was nasty!

I also changed the last cartridge filter, and the DI resin. MInes in a clear cannister so that you can see the color change as it's spent. Still had some good color, changed it anyways.

LOL Vinny. How would you know the answer to that question? I have one my uncle gave me years ago. I would like to know the product to water ratio.

You put your feed line in 1 bucket, waste line in another and measure the volumes over a unit of time.

I think a 4/1 waste product ration is what people shoot for, I think AZDR gets it lower with his better system, etc.

So now my RO is 4TDS when I used to get 0 fro mmy RO tap. The RODI 0 tds.

Any RO/DI shoule be capable of 0 TDS, the difference is for how long. What is your tap water TDS and your hardness? These are the two biggest factors along with pressure, temperature, waste ratio, CO2 content of the water and how you make the water, large or small batches.
