Here the first look at my tank picked it up used for $70, that got me a bit motivated to get it started, I broke one of the longer panes while cleaning it so I have replaced that and will be the new seal inside hopefully this weekend if the rain gives up a bit. Other equipment I have gotten are, a red Berlin classic skimmer and some Hamilton tech system with 3 175w MH and tow vho's all has been acquired used since budget is a driving factor right now. Anyone with experience with the red sea Berlin skimmer I could sure like to hear a bit about it's performance for now I know one con is cleaning it but nothing a bit of patience didn't get accomplished so I don't mind that.

What I have done to the tank so far is clean it, break it and well get it fixed. I have scrapped off the old silicone and ordered 2 tubes of all-glass clear silicone. Have also removed the plastic trim that went around the tank and plan to make a wood trim and add a frame at the bottom of the tank for a bit of support I will follow up with picks when I get that done

Its a good skimmer. I would run it in a 5 gallon bucket or something atleast 6 - 8 inches deep with a 2 part water to 1 part vinegar solution to break up the calcification for a day. other than that take your time and keep up the good work.

vinegar seems to be the wonder tonic, and patience is always on my side so I will definitely give that a try
