My FL Keys vacation!

Sounds like you missed Fort Zach and yea the construction sucks. I've seen those monkeys rip up the same road multiple times. Key West is great once you get past the overly commercial tourist crap and sleazy Israeli tshirt shops. There's some very cool people and places still around. The weather and particular reef you visit can make or break your snorkeling. The reefs where the headboats go are sacrificial spots which are dead and really suck. Sorry you didn't like it, I could have pointed you in the right direction.
