Cool, was gonna do a 1 1/2" sand bed. I see what your sayin, so the 1st weir should be 2 1/2"" then. Thanks I value your opinion, no doubt. so what would the benefit be in doin it this way vs the other way? Just curious.

Because the water flow is forced to go down while the air bubbles want to naturally go up. I guess its similar to a counter current skimmer, kinda.

So I bought a 10 gallon tank.. $11.50 and aquarium silicon $7. I wanted a good bond so I got glass cut at the hardware store. 2 pieces 10x9 3/4" and 8.5 x 9 3/4". The baffles are set 2" apart, and the shorter one is 11/2" from the bottom.
The glass cost $3. Sat the tank on its short side. Used Books stacked 6" set the glass on top... made sure it was level. Siliconed.. Two inches of books stacked on the glass.. set next glass baffle down.. silicone. Silicone one side.. the silicone pushes throught the gap.. Easy!

Setting this bad boy up on Sunday along with a chiller.. can't wait!

I will couter chaeto from getting into the pump housing with a half cut PVC pipe with drain holes, set in between the baffles. Micro bubbles will be countered with a special drain housing in the fuge area.

    Fuge is Set up!!

Set up the Fuge last night, with minimal mess! Thanks to my buddy from work. Can't wait to see how the coral reacts in the next couple days. Already have more polyp extension. Had an oops when I spilled my drink on a powertrip last night.. thank you GFCI.. funny it wasn't even tank related. Thank god.. so far so good.

Remember with a small return area you will be topping off frequently depending on how much evap you have. I ran into this with my first sump. Made the fuge large and the return area small and had to top off twice a day when I had the fans on it.Got aggravating sometimes but if I wasn't so lazy I would have added an ato... :) .
