hello everyone i was watching my tank just enjoying it and my diamond goby has been in the tank for about 3 days, and last night...

it happened so fast it was hard to see.

he sucked up a snail and swam really fast back in his little house he made in my tank.

the next day i wake up check on everything and i find the snail right out of his little house. but there was no snail.

i just wanted to know if anyone has had any problems with gobys eating snails.

the snail was on the sand walking around not on the rock. idk if that info has anything to do with it but i thought i just would say it.

Gobys do this for fun. They do not eat the snails, in fact they can't eat a snail, especially diamond gobys. They are sand sifters. My watchmen pics up and throws snails and hermits away from his burrow all the time. My 12+" engineer also does the same. Yesterday he was playing catch with himself. I even saw him catch a sandy slime string floating in the water, chew it up, spit it out and repeat like 20 times. It was awesome. My blue tang even pics snails and hermits up.

There is actually a massive stack of hermit/snail shells outside of the watchmens burrow and in random spots the engineer burrows. My engineers favorite shell is the ninja star snail shell. He always make sure its on top of the other shells. Fish are crazy!
