my green hairy mushroom is the first coral i put in my tank. I initially attached it to a piece of base rock. however, i have moved it to a smaller piece of rock a couple of days ago so that i can move it around as i please. i had to place it in a low flow area so that it would attach itself. i went to move it back to its original position earlier and noticed that it has began to split itself, so i just left it alone.
why is it doing this? because it is happy or because it feels threatened?

    thanks for your help
i will add more pics as it continues to change

i am not sure about cutting to start splitting, but i know that you can cut mushrooms and have two. the green hairys become a gel pretty fast though. i thought about cutting mine but didnt want it to "melt"

cool on the split, it's definitely spreading to make a little colony. I used to have a hairy mushroom rock and that thing multiplied so nicely and quickly, I'm sure you'll have a lot more soon.

Very nice Indiana Boy! Congrats. It must be time for shrooms to split. My Ric is also going through a split right now.

Yes, you can literally cut them in half with a razor blade etc. A few weeks later, you'll have two shroomies!

It is a very pretty mushroom, love the intense green.
