it has been in my tank for over a month now. and it started to expand and it was doing good. 5 days ago i added a new powerhead and created more water movement. 3 days ago it stopped from opening. i moved it to a zone with more gentle water movement. and superglued the 2 spaguetty worms on the frag. water parameters are fine: pH:8.0 nitrite and amonia are 0, nitrate is a bit high 20, ill be doing a water change today (salt has been mixing overnight) but all my other frags are doing gr8 and all look healthy. any suggestions?

gsp does this from time to time. IME, it usually indicates a growth spurt is imminent.

gsp can survive in the toilet. in low flow, high flow, high light, no light, whatever.

Keep in mind it will spread like crazy - be mindful of where you put it and what it can reach... try to keep it isolated.

    before and after pics?

Maybe it changed the amount of light it receives drastically enough to shock it.

Evaluate your light situation as this will affect them strongly.

GSP do not mind at least moderate flow in my opinion.

Totally agree. Don't worry about it, it'll be fine.

Let me know if it dies...it would be one for the log books! It'll come around. I've had a stand for over 10 years and have cut it in half, horizontally, vertically, shipped some to Hawaii that was confiscated and then sent back...it is doing fine! Keep up the good parameters, it'll be back. It might be freaked a bit from the gluing of the 2 frags you mentioned now too.

thanks all for the input. i have this frag on an isolated rock surrounded by sand. so i dont think i should be worried about taking over the tank. i just like how it looks. i kind of knew that in should not be worried but i wanted to know what is happening.
    thanks again
