I got a nice piece of GSP today its about 2"x4" brought it home acclimated it placed it on a rock I was going to superglue it but then the only superglue I had was rock hard, I came back 2 hours later from a meeting and my stupid sea urchin knocked it over into my gravel :( how long do you guys think it will take for it to open back up... I have it glued to the rock now

Just to give you an idea about how bullet proof and ultimately adaptable GSP are...

Whenever I put GSP in one of my tanks I always try to put them on rocks separated from the main live rock so they can't take over. GSP will grow like a weed and force out other corals so by keeping it on its own rock it stays isolated.

In my 120 I was being very successful in doing this until... I saw what at first I thought was aiptasia a couple inches away from my GSP colony. Upon closer inspection I realized it was GSP! The dam stuff had put out a feeler UNDER THE SAND until it hit the base of the main rock formation then it shot up and started growing. Below is a pic that I posted previously in this forum somewhere.

Additionally, when I was converting over to my 185, I had taken some rock out of the 120 and stored it in a big bin in my garage along with other new live rock. No skimmer, no temperature control, no salinity control, no problem! When I aquascaped my 185 and put the rock in, after a couple weeks I started seeing something growing on one of the rocks. It then grew nubs and finally the telltale tentacles of GSP. So when I had removed the rock, obviously a small piece of GSP had attached and ripped off the main colony. It had basically remained dormant under horrid conditions until it got put into the good conditions of the new tank where it started growing.
