    glad to hear it worked out for you too! Hubby had a line on a good used whole house gen, but the guy flaked on him....we'll keep looking!

    We just got the storm it left once it was on land. It was only 60 mph winds here but our building codes are not made for that kind of wind. I can just imagine what it would have been with about 50 more mph added to that. :eek:

    Thats true, I did see the pictures of Texas and was in shock. I think it was just cat 2 and it did so much damage:-[. I guess the building codes are not meant for hurricanes (alot of wood structure). Down here in south Florida everything has to be approved and houses are made of brick, so cat 2 is not that bad. Good thing everything worked out ok for you.

    That's the way it should be. The better setups have a battery charger online 24/7. It's not the best scenario when your battery only charges during maintenance runs.

    Tangster, if you have an ATS, it's easy enough to route a 120 circuit to the battery charger.

    Otty, glad you spent the money! I'm also happy that everythig went so smoothly and you didn't lose anything! They say no man is an island, but you're now one step closer! :)

    100mph will definitely make your roof shake. That's when 6 adults and one infant crawled into the "powder room" under the staircase! Never said a word, just headed that way!
