    That's genius if I am seeing it right... did you use the old fireplace as the stand? That should hold! Nice!

    lol, no its not on an old fireplace!
    the garage backs onto the lounge, so a hole was cut in the lounge wall and a purpose built concrete block stand was built with reinforced concrete lintels put across the top.

    some of the rock was from my previous reef tank, the rock from that was purchased from another reefer closing his tank down, so 40kg of the rock could be several years old.
    another 60kg of new live rock was added when i built this tank - this has already started to cover with coraline.
    i use 3 x 250watt halides and keep calcium levels around 450 so coraline gowth is pretty rapid - bit of a pain in the ass though as glass needs continual cleaning
