its been running for about 3 weeks. i definitely need more live rock. currently a domino, 3 striped, and yellow tailed damsel. im not sure what direction this tank will take yet. im thinking either some hardy inverts and some reef-safe fish, fish only, or predator. i definitely need more live rock regardless and a skimmer im saving for as well. i may or may not get a t-5 fixture depending on what route i go. i use a 29g tank for water changes for now.

I would go T5HO only if you add corals.

I also plan to start a 125 when my parents replace the living room carpet with tile. Looks alot like my 75 when I first started.

i really want a dogface or a porqupine puffer as my centerpiece fish.

maybe i can do either with a some smaller colorful fish.

ideally i would like to have both types of puffers with a lionfish (volitans) and a snowflake moray eel but my research shows not only my tank is not large enough but....the two puffers may not get along...pick on the lion...and nip the eel lol.

so i think my best bet is doing the centerpiece with the smaller colurful ones (damsels clowns gobies etc)

does anyone have personal experience with keeping puffers with mouth-sized tankmates?

i would feed it mostly freeze dried krill, cocktail shrimp, mussles, and clams and calamari (i work in a seafood resturant).

also, im hearing conflicting reports regarding porq. puffers.

some sites say they hit a foot..others 18 inches...and one site said 2-3 feet. wtf? lol

I'd personally do a dogface puffer because they look so awesome but its aggressive so make sure that any tankmates wont be harrassed by it

Lions and puffers will do fine together. If I were to buy a lion it would be this
Black Volitan Lionfish, Lionfish - Pterois volitans
Dogface Pufferfish, Arothron Dog Face Pufferfish - Arothron nigropunctatus
Porcupine Pufferfish, Porcupinefish - Diodon holocanthus
The eel can get up 24" in a fish tank. http://liveaquaria.com/product/prod_display.cfm?c=15 29 131&pcatid=131
I guess you can get all 4 of those fish.

Yea. When I setup my 125-300. I can give you my live rock that is almost the size of a 29g tank. I plan to start my new tank with all base rock.
