Oh yeah, under the right conditions they can grow very quick. We purchased a large Toadstool Coral and on the rock that it was attached there was a small finger leather frag. It was probably no bigger then the size of a quarter. It is now its own full fledged show piece. In about 4 months it has grown to about 6 inches high and about 5 inches across. We removed it from the rock and attached it to its own rock. When we removed it from the original rock we were not aware that we left a tiny piece behind, that piece is now the size of a quarter. We have them everywhere....LOL8)

All corals can become a weed, or overgrow tank in time, as isn't this our utmost goal - doing everything we can to keep them vigorous and healthy...

Something to keep in mind when placing and obtaining corals.

Just like in a garden, prudent pruning and containing in certain areas needed.

My worst offenders are xenias (of course), GSP's, Kenya trees, any sarcophagan coral.

Albeit slower, even my frogspawn needs chopping up and moving pieces to other locations. Before long you will run out of space for even them.

Eventually the only solution is a larger tank. :p

    (or become your own LFS)...;)
