    hi all,i was wondering if the lighting i use is sufficient for my 75 gallon?
    1-18 led cree 3watt vertex aquaristik bar.http://www.vertexaquaristik.com/Prod...inoBianco.aspx

    1- 39 watt aquablue special t5 bulb,ATI-Aquaristik T5-Leuchtmittel

    i have had them both on from 9 a:m to 8:00 pm daily,lately i got a good outbreak of cyano,i siphoned all that was on the sand bed out yesterday.
    i do a 20 liter water change on a weekly basis. i have lots of hermits,snails,1-pistol shrimp,1 sand sifting starfish to clean the sandbed.

    i supplemented the led bar with the t5 it brightened things up,,maybe the t5 is old?causing the cyano?

    tank parameters are-sg=1.024
    temp=79.4f
    ph=8.3
    po4=.025
    cal=500?bit high?
    kh =50,,low
    nitrite=0.2
    nitrate=1.5
    omonia 0.1
    so,,any tips about my lights ect would be appreciated.
    oh,,other then fish i have kenyas,and zoos,,everyove is happy.

    I'd get rid of the starfish, use a pipette, lots of nass snails, good flow, and good maintenance to keep up. Something like Purigen could help remove some of the nutrients in the water.
    Doubt the lighting is going to cause cyano or algae
    Is the tank cycling? Just asking cause of the amm. and nitrite
