my mixed reef

    this is my thrid marine tank and it is 350 ltrs

    tank specs
    The dimensions are 121 x 51 x 62 cm.
    lighting is 2 54w t5's and 4 aquarays one blue one white and 2 white and blue
    skimmer is a deltec mce 600 and flow is 2 koralia 4 but going to be changing soon to a koralia
    filter is a ehiem pro 2 external filter with tmc vecton 15 uv in line
    there is bout 37 kg of live rock and 16 kg of sand

    use the external filter just for rowaphos and carbon and it is running with 100ml of bio pearls in at the min unlit i can get my hands on a reactor.

    thanks guys the marks on sailfin on great he is one of the most colourful sailfin i have seen. the jawfish is cool just makes one hell of mess digging all the time

    added a korilia 5 2day plus more some corals added got my 2 k4's on the rightside of the tank and the k5 on left just hope thats helps with the cyno. also moved the cat on to the sandbed move some button poylps up the make room for the cat cuz i know how big they can get tbh the cat seem to like it more and has opened up really well.

    I love the rock work, real eye catching. I see some cyano on the substrate, that should be addressed ASAP. I think you have a 65-75 gal. tank? That is quite a load of fish. Make sure you have adequate filtration for that many. How old is this set up?

    tank works out at 101 us gal. added more flow to help with the cyno. tank has bin running for 5 months live is all from a mature system 15 kg was from my old system and the rest is from a tank break down and water was from a mature system

    Contrary to the belief of some, flow has very little little to do with cyano bacteria. I have seen gross cyano patches in direct heavy flow and it almost seemed to relish it (probably the added oxygen). You need to reduce the nutrient load in the tank. I pointed out the need for good filtration with the amount of fish you have. Cut back on the amount and frequency of feeding for a few weeks and you should see a great improvement.
