my monti cap

so ive been watching it and i is fusing together quite nicely. the white edges that indicate that its growing is gone at the point of contact and it is now one piece.

I would like to see a pic also...one day soon I will have a frag of an orange....What are the lighting req's for the monti's?

 

Montipora needs moderate lighting. Middle of tank is good

 

from what i understand, they ideally grow under 10,000k bulbs but look better under 20,000k bulbs. i am running 20,000k bulbs and i thinks it looks great and is growing at a moderate pace

 

I wasintersested in this and thought I would try to get a red and green to fuse. I am going to try this when I tear apart the tank and move. It should be interesting. I would also like to see some pics.

 

I have a purple rim cap that grows like crazy under a 20k radium bulb I am chopping it up now to get rid of it's taking up too much relastate..... photos in my. folder of my tank and some of the corals. I fused a tan cap with orange and green I traded it thought to someone in the club it barely fused on the edges seemed like it was going to just over lap each other. I will try and hunt down a photo if I have one with them touching.

yeah i have dual 250 watt 20,000K radium bulbs and i absolutely love them.
this video is when i first installed in back when the tank was real young.
