MY mrandrins dieing i think help

    hi 3reefers need some help i went on vecation 2 nights ago i left my light off 4 2 days and only left moon lites on i came back tonight turned them on to poot in my new coral in i went and got and then he floats to the top hes not upside down hes flappin his little arms and acts awhere but he just floats around and wont go to the bottom of the tank i even poot him behind the rocks where he likes to hide and he just floats back up. whene the overflow gets him stuck he kiks and gets out and he just keeps doin it over and over he wont go down is it maybie becuz i turned the lites on at night and he went into shock cuz of the suden brightness. help me PLZ i love Mr.Bibble :(

    How long have you had him? How big is the tank? How does his belly look (is it sunken in)?

    tank is to young to support that species fish of for very long they need pods to eat and lots of them tank needs lots of rockwork

    Well, my first guess would be that it is probably starving to death, which is the cause of probably 99% of mandarin deaths. Can you tell me what it's belly looks like? How is your pod population?
    I really doubt the lights had anything to do with it. Mandarins are actually pretty hardy fish once you get past their difficult diet requirements. But those nitrites do scare me. They can be toxic at any amount. Have you tested the water for them BEFORE you add to the tank? Did you cycle the tank properly or add anything like rock or even shells lately?
    The only other things I would suggest is to go slow and do a lot of research. That tank is pretty heavily stocked for being just 3 1/2 months old. And you need to get a full and proper test kit asap! I wouldn't be adding livestock until I knew that ALL levels were good.

    well ill get pods right away and get test kits gradually dont got the money to go but 5 15$ test kits right away evrything els in my tank looks great hes only bad one :/
