I have a bit of an odd question, I have a Naso Tang, still a junvanile, that i have had for 2 months. I have noticed that he seems to been fanning the sand creating these huge holes.
I just noticed this behavior about 3 weeks ago, he was doing it on one side of the tank and yesterday I noticed him doing it on the other side. Like i said his is still a juvanile no more then 2-3 inches long. But he is creating these big holes right next to or on the edges of the live rock.

Does anyone have a clue to why he might be doing this?

I have a 75 gallon tank with about an inch and a half of live sand and 50+ pounds of live rock. I have a pretty good amount of flow, I use 2 800gph wave makers. Each attached to one side of the tank giving a pretty substancial flow.

Never had an issue with that, but I did have one 3-stripe damsel that persistently picked up sand and spit it at my LTA when he had more than enough space to just keep his distance... Now that's aggression!

My guess is that we will never fully understand the individual personality of every fish we encounter.
