Cool setup, I had a 10 gallon for awhile. The used water probably didnt do anything for you. What would have been alot more beneficial is if you ran the bio wheel filter on your 180 for a few weeks before you setup the 10 gallon. Just my 2 cents.

What are your plans for the tank?

Sweet job especially with the black sand. Just watch your parameters. Just be aware for your room for error for a small tank. Keep up the good work.

My plans are maybe 2 baby baby clowns? I had 2 clowns in my 10 gallon 2 years ago and they lasted the whole time now they are in my 180. And I'm planning on keeping corals, don't know what kind yet... Just taking it slow... Next step....protien skimmer

if you do regular water changes you won't need to waste money on a skimmer IMO
