    Hi All,

Well, my 120 is officially underway, so thought I would start a thread and document my progress. Here we go:

I decided to go with an all glass reef ready 120 Gallon tank. It measures 48x24x24 and comes with two overflows. Here is the empty tank...with my 4 year old in it for size perspective

As for the other stuff in the Sump:

    1. All Glass Mega-Flow 4 Sump
    2. (2) Simplicity Chemical Reactors powered by a Quiet one 1200 pump
    3. (2) Koralia 4 pumps for water movement
    4. 300W titanium heater
    5. Coralife 220 Super Skimmer
    6. Quiet one 4000HH return pump

For lighting I am using (2) 24" Coralife Aqualight PRO, each has a 150W MH and (2) 65W actinic PC's - so a total of 560w with both fixtures. I am running 14000K bulbs in the MH fixtures. If you are asking "why 2 24" fixtures"...the answer is I had a 24" fixture from my old tank...so I just put new bulbs in it, and bought a second fixture to get me the 48" of coverage I needed. It was much more economical then looking at an entirely new fixture.

I set the tank up over christmas, and put in 50lbs of base rock, and also framed in the main rock structure using PVC, a masonry bit, and some zip ties. My goal was to make a natural looking arch in the tank, and still have the rock work be stable. Here is a picture with that base rock and PVC.

Last Thursday I got 100lbs of aquacultured live rock from www.liverockandmore.com. The stuff is great, and very reasonably priced. I HIGHLY suggest working with these guys. Roy and Rich are the contacts there, and they were awesome. Very attentive to my requests, and very easy to work with. Plus the rock is aquacultured, which I think is really cool. Here is a picture of about 30 lbs of rock before it went in the tank. I put it in buckets to rinse it off, but it gives you a good idea of what the rock looked like upon arrival.

Finally, here is a picture of the rock work I have done in the tank. Now all I have to do is sit back and wait for a while and let it cycle. Im pretty excited to start stocking the tank. I have a 65 reef tank now, and I am going to take frags and cuttings from that tank first, which I am pretty excited about - kind of like free coral :)
