Well i moved my 120 (60x18x24) in to my house. Luna, im sorry i couldn't take pics. I was moving so fast the whole time that i would have needed a dedicated camera man....

All in all i found that i was extremely well prepared. Pumped the water out the window through a hose to containers waiting in the car and on trailers.

LR in buckets... carried the tank out and down a staircase with my brother (not too bad btw)

New sand at the new location. fish in bucket with airstone for a day...they were fine

Kept all corals and livestock alive... although the damsel has been MIA for like 3 days.

Everything seems to be going well right? wrong....

I have 3 problems. Two of them minor. One of the a killer

Minor problems : leaking plumbing. the tank came with "hoses" to connect the returns and overflows... man those are impossible to get leak free i think. The clamps just dont do the job. Hard plumbing with cement is the only way to go. 2nd minor problem is the sump is too small. 20G L for a dual overflow 120 is silly. I just doesn't hold enough water. Based on the evaporation rate so far i think i need to put a gallon of water in it every six hours or so or the pump runs outa water and fills the tank with bubbles. Any way to turn down the return pump gph flow? I have valves... but it seems like it puts stress on the system somewhere when i mess with em... wrong?

Here is the big... biiggg problem. My wife HATES it. And i mean ABSOLUTELY hates it. "Its big, and its stinks, and its sooo big!!" haha... I should mention that i got everything in this system for $400 because the guy was desperate.

I wanted a 75 or 90, but couldn't pass up the deal. She never asked how big it was , or ask any question about it for that matter so i didn't say anything. Plus i put it in the basement so who the hell cares i thought...

Unfortunately she is insisting that it leave the home. I think i am going to get a smaller tank and then put everything in the smaller one.... sell the empty 120.

I really want to move it to a 75 because i need 18 inches to work with, but right now shes insisting on a 55 ... i think just to try and get me to jump off a tall bridge.

So i haven't fixed the plumbing (why would i?)which means the sump isnt running... which you guessed it means there is no filtration going on... Here is what i have done to keep the fish and stuff going.... 2 powerheads, one with and air stone underneath it (this worked much better than i thought it would)... hung a bag of carbon in the tank.... that's pretty much it The inhabitants seem to be extremely happy actually... all the corals come right out... tangs are swimming the length...eating... clowns are doing their thing

Anyway this has been a nightmare and my wife is actually threatening separation if i dont get it out of the house.....

 .....there is soooooo much you can do with a 120, i was excited...:-/

I dont really care about all the work to move it because it was fun to play for a few days at least

OMG.. i am so so sorry..... I would try and ask what she hates about it and see if she would at least give you a time line to fix the things she doesnt like just to help you keep it... And to deff make her happy is the BIG THING......

    Best of Luck...

    Greetings from down the I-90.
Very, very important to keep the wife in the loop with the decidsion making even if the tank is going in the basement. Mine is particular. Was going to start a 75. Had the tank & was looking for a stand. She eyes the 72 bowfront & wants that! Who am I to argue - we both got what we wanted!

Carbon will make it not stink. A used 55g tank from Craiglist or Ebay will solve your sump issues.

I am sorry that you are having to give this up - sounds like it would have been a great tank. I really feel for you guys that don't have the support from your wives and SO's.

My husband and I got into this together and it has become a huge part of our daily life. In fact, my daughter-in-law teases us on a regular basis by asking how our "new children" are doing??? LOL!
