I'm now 95% done with aquascaping and am decently happy with it. I've still got some detail to put in, but these pics are the base.

    Full tank:

Right side. My plan from the beginning was to have a self standing piece and I'm happy with the one I've got. I plan to make it a cap colony.

Middle. The shapes in the rock in the middle are incredible. I love the shelf and the curved pieces.

Left side. Tough to see, but a couple cool caves in the top and shelfs on the left.

That rock is pretty amazing. You did a great job with the layout.

I like the free standing idea as well. Along the lines of the "Two or Three Island" technique but unique. I'm hoping I have room in my new tank to pull something similar on a decent scale.

Lol I'm lucky to be able to build the 55 I'm working on. When I live on my own and can afford it I want an in-wall, see-through, 8' x 3.5' x 2.5' as my ultimate tank. I'm not sure how many gallons, but it is a lot.:cheesy: Wow, That would be 524 gallons.

So... I think there is an 80% chance that I need to break down the tank :(

The reason is that I think there is an 80% chance that the job interview I had this Friday in San Francisco is going to pan ;D

At least I will be breaking it down before I've put too much in it, but it is still going to be a royal pain. I'll likely have to redo the false sand bottom as I'm sure it won't survive a cross country move. I'm very hopeful the rock will all survive intact.

    My plan would be to:

    - Break down the tank
    - Store the fish at an LFS
    - Ship the tank and rock to San Fran
    - Get the tank set up again and cycled
    - Ship the fish out

I haven't gotten an offer yet, but I expect one next week and I expect it to be lucrative enough that I will want to move.

Great opportunity with bad reef timing :)

that's really great news. I hope it goes as you want. And ya... better now then when you had 2 years of growth.

Personally, I would just sell the fish and be done with that. the rest of the stuff will make it. Is it really important to keep the fish you have?

That sucks...you will never get your rock like that again. However, good job on the new job.

That rock isn't going anywhere but with me to San Fran (if the job comes through). I'll drive it out myself if I have to!
