Well, after seeing as how everyone else on here has a tank thread. I may as well make one.

    A lil about me:
Im 21, almost done with my engineering degree, then off to grad school for a global management-mba

I love fish. ever since i was a lil kid i had a tank in my room. The first tank I had was a .75 gallon freshwater tank. I was able to breed some guppies in it believe it or not haha. Then I had a 20 gallon tall freshwater tank for over 5 years. Then i added a 10 gallon half assed salt water tank to my room. That was a mistake. Thinking i could have coral on a budget of only 50 bucks for some salt mixture and a 10 gallon tank with sand...oops

Well, i decommissioned my 20 gallon tall freshwater tank, bought a beefier stand, and converted to salt. After one month, here are the results: (Thanks to all your help from 3reef. I no longer listen to the lfs that tries to get money out of me every trip)

My spotted goby. This guys awesome. Hes like a coral inspector. Everytime something moves, he'll circle around it for over an hour checking it out. Almost as if to critique me on my decisions.

I hope you guys enjoyed the photos.

As of now, I am done with adding any more fish. I did everything one by one to make sure that my bio load kept up. No big problems at all so far.
The tank matured very quickly b/c of the amount and use of liverock from day one. I am using cc substrate right now and was wondering and contemplating about using sand. This process would be lengthy as i would be adding maybe 1/4 cupfulls of sand every three days not to spike another cycle. We will see what happens.

Thank you 3 reef for always being there for me. Tank or not tank related, this has been a wonderful experience.

Thanks. It took forever to balance everything safely.

How would you guys recommend adding more branch tonga rock without spiking a cycle?

Nuke it. The rest of the LR should seed it in no time.

So just throw it right in then huh?

I want to add some height to the tank in order to have a placement area for higher light demanding corals
