What kind of skimmer is that? Do you have any skimmer overflow problems with the water that deep?

They have been working great, I don't get any bubbles from the drain pipe. The only bubbles that I get, come from the skimmer. But they never make it to the return pump. So I don't get any micro bubbles in my display tank.

It is a Reef Octopus NW150. So far I havent had any overflow problems yet, but I have only had it running for a week. If I have any problems then I have allready built a riser stand to bring it up, but keep the water the same level. So far the skimmer is allready starting to pull crap, but not foaming as much as I would like. But it is still early in the break in process, so we will see. Plus I have no fish or lights yet, so there isn't much for it to pull.

Make the holes larger, and it will work better. I have large and small holes on both drain lines. The drain pipe for my fuge bubbles a little bit when I turn the flow up, but I have the drain pipe for my skimmer at full blast and no bubbles. I think it is because I have larger holes on that one, and I made a slit on the lower end that is kind of like a half moon but about a 1/4" thick.

Am I supposed to plant it, or just let it float? I have it sort of planted right now.
And do you think I have enough light on it?

let it float, i would suggest egg crate or cross-stitching plastic instead of the foam pad so you won't have to clean as much.

also the chaeto doesn't need 50/50. alot of people just run any bright bulb they can find..

    nice build.
