Looks great! That base rock will be live soon anyways, and once the coraline kicks in nobody will know the difference! Plus u saved yourself lots of $ that you can spend on critters later:)

I saved a ton of $ already. I found this setup on craigslist, I got the tank, stand, hood, filter, and powerheads all for $625!

Is there no sump and you only have a canister filter?

    I second this?
I vote while you cycle build a sump!
A cheap sump of course. You're gonna want a skimmer.

sorry I said welcome, but I meant nice tank. I was just in the newbie place welcomeing everyone, then I had to check the baby and when I came back, well, anyway, the tank looks nice.

I like how you have different styles of rock. It will look awesome when you start stalking it.

Yes, I am building a sump. Planning on getting a 20 long, I think it will fit under the stand. The bow front shaped stand limits me on sump size. But I think a 20 long will work. I'm planning on adding a skimmer to the sump as well. What I'm worried about the most is an overflow. I need some feed back on good overflows that arent loud and siphon well. And what size pump is kinda baffling as well.....suggestions please.

And thanks for the comments on the rock build, and all that base rock came with the tank as well. I'm looking forward to seeing it get stocked and for the coraline to spread.
