I'm trying to add a link to a video of my new Blue Jaw Trigger. I currently have him in a 55 gal but I'm looking at a 75 long that is 60" long. I'll be thinking about what I can fit in my space that is bigger to meet his needs when he grows.

He currently gets along well with my large cleaner shrimp. He's allowed the shrimp to climb on him and they hang out in "his" cave area. But I know some triggers will eat shrimp so I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

Very cool addition. I to would be a little worried about your shrimp. But if you keep the trigger well fed I'm sure he'll be OK

You can buy clams on the half shell at most LFS Triggers love them and it's a lot of fun to watch them eat them.

I've had several. They are beautiful fish & never had any of the usual problems you hear as in they aren't reef safe, mean, nasty, killers. I had one for about 3yrs. that grew to about 5" or so. I do think you should definitely get a bigger tank, even bigger than 75g because they do like their space. Nice!!!!.....Good Luck!!

I will look for the clams you mentioned and see if he likes them. I plan to keep him well fed!

Good job, that's my dream to have a blue jaw trigger in a reef setup. Unfortunately with my luck, he'd most like destroy everything.

Good luck with him!! I got one 6 weeks ago and it died very mysteriously after 1 week exactly. I ordered a second and left it at the LFS for a week and the same exact thing happened . . . it just stopped eating one day and died the next.

Wow. What bad luck. I wonder if it has anything to do with where he originally came from? Bad capture or handling? Sorry for your misfortune.

I'm thinking it was cyanide poisoning. So much for a $40 blue jaw . . . the next one is going to cost me a bundle shipped from live aquaria. At the very least it should come in healthy, and if it doesn't there is a guarantee.
