I got new metal halide, so I had to get a cheap easy way to get a screening top to keep my wrasse from suiciding.

1st: I got a Metal screening from Home depot

Holes are this small or big

Looks decent after 1 hour of cutting, took awhile since I had to cut each wire one by one, since this was metal

Ta dah, this wont straigten down!

1: Tomorrow I plan on buying some duck tape, and taping the sides, and edges because it has sharp edges, dont want anyone getting hurt.

2: I need a way for that thing to lay flat, and yes I know it looks like cheap set up so bare with me lol

3: I need some ideas on how I can straigten that down flat.

4: Also will metal material be okay for fish tank? Specially being moisture area and all? It says on the tag it has zinc coating for longer lasting, but this being metal was little worrying me.
    Should this be okay?

Suggestions / Ideas are more then welcome, please help!

have you seen this netting, its reef safe and allows light threw it. Clear 1/4" Screen Netting 6.5' x 2.5' - English its what i have over my tank. bought the frame at lowes and cut it to fit the top of my tank. they show a video on how to make it on the page.

oh someone on ebay also sells the netting buy the square foot. so you can get a smaller amount if needed.

I would be concerned with it rusting in no time. However it is cheap and can be replaced for near nothing.

You are losing a good bit of direct/intense lighting using that method. Great link posted for the netting. That's the method I would go with.

ya I was going to buy that one, but apprently then and still is out of stock :(
I needed something like ASAP before my lubbocks wrasse kills him self, so thats the route I took hoping it would be forever.

But metal is gonna rust, not gonna work, I just hope they get these in stock soon.

Yeah that will work for now. No worries. You can also get egg crate at Home Depot or Lowes. It is plastic and will sit on top perfectly. It is a temp fix with a LOT less hassle. Look for it in the lighting section of either store.

BRS seems to always be out of stock on that smaller netting. look on ebay. also lowes has the frame in black i believe i paid 11 dollars for the frame, at lowes the frame comes with all you need, except the netting.

opps and the roller to put the net in, is something you will need. believe me i tried to do it with out the roller. :(
