Are you still running bp? if so, how much? What algae eaters do you have in your tank?

It's been a frustrating few months. With the previous tank working so well, I really had a sense I could throw it all together and it would work.

I'm running ZeoVit right now. I think the zeolite and bp work quite differently but end up doing similar jobs. I plan on switching back to biopellets, but I think I'll let things run happy for a,while before I change a thing.

Only real algae eater I have in the tank right now is a fox face. I had a purple tang before the lanthanum chloride disaster, but that got him.

Hmm.. how much Zeolite are you running? 3 hours on/off? Dosing schedule? What additives? Ive converted from BP to zeovit when i had the old 90, with rather success.

NO3 and PO4 levels? That algaes gotta be growing off something..

Oh the algae is long gone. Those are older pics. I'm running 1 liter of zeolite which the reactor running continuously. As of my last batch of lab results (I sent water off for testing), my nitrates were 1.5ppm and phosphates were 0.01ppm. I auto dose 12 drops of Zeostart, add K Balance to my top off water, and dose ZeoBac 5 drops twice a week. The tank also gets 3 drops sponge power a day and 5 drops vitalizations daily since the nutrients went away.

I replaced the hair algae covered rock slowly with well cured stuff and nothing has grown back. The little bit that was left died off quietly once the nutrients were gone.

My biggest problem right now is keeping the sand bed clean. The tank is too tall to clean the sand easily and I'd like to avoid a diamond goby.

I confess the phone confuses the colors badly, but it gives a good idea of overall health. Next purchase, better camera. Promise.

I took these with my new 85mm micro Nikkor lens. I'm still mostly clueless on the settings and white balance could use some help, but it's getting better.
