are these a dwarf kind of cuttlefish, because I've also heard they get huge(in the ocean). I'm getting interested in them myself.

That is so cool! I can't wait to see more pictures. I'm glad Bob's tank is being put to good use. :)

I would like do something with my FW 10 at some point. I lost my silver dollar tetra I had had for years yesterday. I've had this tank running for about 15 years. I haven't added any fish in probably 5 years and have a few still hanging on. Jwin (of course) wants to convert it to another mantis tank, but I'm going to have to work on that. If I can't do something with a 10, I might could do a 20 tall on that stand.

18 months would be EXTREMELY lucky. 12~13 months would be more appropriate.

They are not even REMOTELY REEF SAFE. These are for a species tank only.

They are currently the size of pencil erasers. I NEVER should have used a fist as a description. Sure they will be 4 inches long and 2 inches wide, but they will not have that thickness at all. Schackmel has included links with lots of info on these interesting ceph's.

tried feeding them today. It was way too soon..and I knew it. Just hoping!

I started to make some brine shrimp but got a spur in my bottom, so went out and got some live brine. I went to a freshwater store to get the brine, so then I had to go to a saltwater store to get some Amino Omega to soak them in (of course had to buy more then that).

I was so excited I had my camera ready to catch my babies eating! Placed the food in the net and NOTHING! LOL...I knew nothing would happen. But worth a shot. I want them to start to learn how to track their food at least, but they were way too young! They are still eating their eggs and in my eye they look like they have grown overnight!

Reef safe could mean they are fine with coral, which they are ;) Just no small fish, crabs, shrimp, etc :)

They are; just no fish, shrimp, or coral that might eat them. Mine didn't touch the hermets or snails. I've also heard of people keeping them w/ seahorses but I don't know how that went.

my cuttles still havent ate..tried again yesterday night. I had some adult brine that I put in there and they started to go after it, but as soon as they touched it they freaked and one inked a small amt!;D

I was also hatching some brine shrimp eggs and the little babies really seemed to get a response out of the cuttles! I cant tell if they ate any or not..but they sure went active when they got put in there.

I do know they are still eating the egg sacs and that they are too young still...but they are growing. I will try to get another pic tonight to show the size now! (Probably not that much bigger...just seems like they grew!)
