Just got a new member to my tank today a Diamond Goby! It didn't take him long to decide were to make his home he couldn't have been in the tank for more than a minute and the sand was flying LOL ;Dhe made himself a home under one of my rocks and then he went rite to work sifting the sand in front of his new home, Just like he was doing some landscaping :Dand he looked like he was watching me the whole time I was watching him LOL ;) ;D............. John,

Excellent choice :) I had 2 similar gobies some time back. I don't know what your sand bed is like, but mine had a bit of brown algae at the time. Over night it was spotless :)

I found that mine made a bit of a mess to start with, they would take a mouth full of sand and then drop it from a great height all over the rock work. That would of course release a bit of fine particulate matter into the water column which was eventually filtered out. The strange thing was, after about 2 months, they stopped doing it :) No idea why, but that's what happened. Anyway, just make sure that some food gets down to the sand level before your other fish eat it or they may have difficulty. I used a turkey baster (occassionally only) to make sure they got a good feed.

    Cheers

Yah he had my water pretty cloudy for a while but it is clearing up now.
Thanks for the tip with the turkey baster John What did you find that liked to eat best? I have some frozen brine shrimp, do you think that would be good? ;) :D.... John

You'll be surprised at how the cloudiness wont happen in the future :)

I fed my fish mainly just on flake food. Occasionally just a whole prawn or some nori. Never really "target" fed any of them.

Well he is back at his landscaping again today and getting my water all fogged up again ;). But he is doing a nice job on his home, The only thing is I don't think he is getting along with one of his neighbors the lawnmower blenny, they seem to be having a little territory issue. Well maybe they can work things out! And the blenny won't be like one of my neighbors ;) ;DLOL I guess we all have them ::) LOL............... John

Sand sifting Blennies and Gobies ca definitely have territorial issues. 75 gallons is a little cramped for those neighbors, eh?
