My new friend.. Blue Spotted Jawfish.

Got him from a local reefer for a great deal. He stayed hidden for two weeks and now camps out front with the rest of the family. Very entertaining fish. One of the LFS has one that is about 6-7 inches long and maybe a quarter round for diameter .. it's huge.

 

does it have a burrow yet? BTW one of my favorites

 

Yeah, He has a bunch of burrows. He's a sand and little rock mover for sure.

 

it should pick a more permanent spot soon and make a nice burrow - i would just make sure your tank is covered until then because nothing worse than seeing you $100+ investment on the carpet next to the tank ( i know from experience) - also can be bullied pretty easily even by pretty peaceful fish so something else to watch out for

He's been in this spot for two days.. so maybe that's where he's gonna stay.

 

Very cool! I have one on my wish list. I'm just too afraid that knowing my luck it will pick a spot BEHIND the rock work

Initially he built a hole in the very back. It too me a couple weeks to find him. After he started getting comfy with the tank he moved around front and now has a few condos in the front. You should get one he's a great fish!
