I heard the bubble algae are bad, because if they pop, it'll release its toxin into the water?

I also heard an Emarald crab would eat these guys, I haven't try it myself since I don't have this problem in my tank... (cross my fingers!)

ok i have had some pop though. what damage can the toxins do? Wont need a crab to remove them i can get to all of them pretty easally.

I think bubbles popping is a urban legend and is not very true. I grab mine and pull them out. If they pop no big deal.

I had a Mathax Crab and it was not interested in my Bubble algae at all.

They do pop and release their spores that settle and propogate. No toxins though. I gently scrape them off with a knife without breaking the bubblle ans siphoned them off. No more Valonia in my tank.
