DBOShibby - I'm just really excited about my purchase...not selling anybody (as I can't sell them) rather than just sharing my story and seeing what people think. I'm new to saltwater and have been wanting to keep something more difficult than LPS and was hoping these LEDs would be my new way of keeping SPS. Unless someone wants to buy my LEDs for more than I paid??? hahaha...just kidding

Here's an update of pics with closer pics of the LEDs up close. I really can't tell if there are reflectors or not.

Also, I'm getting thread algae ....or I assume it is thread algae, when I've never had an algae problem before other than a green dusting on my glass. Anyone know what I should do to rid myself of the algae?

Those certainly look like CREEs, XR-Es to be specific.

Those do not have any optics on them currently, but with how they are mounted, you could easily add them if desired.

Here's some pics of the algae I was talking about me getting. It's hard to see in the pics but it's ugly stuff.

What are those disk looking things then? I thought that's what that was. The Crees that I received didnt have anything like that but I didn't get the same Crees I don't think either.

Actually, the stuff around my australian polyp in the last picture has really fuzzy blue looking algae hugging all around the coral. Also a little green stringy stuff up in the air as well.

I thought those disc looking things were the optics too.....but I'm not sure from the last post, it sounds like there is no optics on it. What CREE's did you get Malac?

Relax my friend!.....I contacted the vendor after i see Supersmirky's thread on this LED fixture and did some research on this LED fixture. So far, I really like the specs. Planning to get three or four modules 90w Blue to White: 18 to 12 total 30pcs 3W Cree as light source from them.

    Happy reefing.

This is a CREE XR-E (mounted on a star):

What you all seem to think is an optic is just the emitter lens. It is an optic of sorts, but it's angle of emittance is quite wide and doesn't really count for our aquarium purposes.

This is the same style of diode with an optic attached:

Lastly, the algae issue is another topic entirely.
