Well it has been a very long and stressful task...but it is finally done! It was not pretty as my carpet is all wet (very long story..that I am too embarrased to tell;D) and had to have a friend come over and rent a sawzaw to cut the bulkhead off but it is done.

I had just installed a 72g bowfront that had a very small sump in it..was a used tank and sump. After about 2 weeks I decided that the sump was way to small so I went out and bought a 30gL acrylic sump that was made for this store. Since it was a bowfront nothing bigger then 10" wide would fit in the stand so that limited me quite a bit...so I decided to plumb it externally as I had left room behind the tank (tank placed in a closet that had been taken down so the front of the tank is flush iwth the wall)

Some how I broke the drain bulkhead when I was changing it out and COULD NOT under any circumstance get that off...so sawzaw we went.

    Here is the final plumbing...

from front with the stand doors open...again sump is behind stand

behind the tank...I have installed the coil denitrator...am trying to find a skimmer to go in the second chamber but am having challenges....

the other side of the sump

here is the original plumbing and sump..I am estimating this was only 10g

Now if I can only find the right skimmer! I had one that did not fit because of the lip...I tried to cut some of it off with the dremel but it was way too big the way it was configured

Oh yeah...the water that is on top of the sump..is not that it is jetting out...I splashed water all over trying to fit the skimmer in, and then it drained out when I was removing it...so needless to say more water on my floor!!! And the cord that is running across is for the heater that is in the sump!
