My new purple tang setup

No, I am just playing, couldnt resist it. I did have to catch the fish as it was too aggressive in MY 135 Gallon tank. It killed my Male Hawiaan Flame Wrasse, my Bluespotted jaw and my yellow coris.

So yesterday I caught him with a fish trap and was going to take him to my LFS. I did not think when the store that I worked for closed to grab some large fish bags and only had freezer bags at the house. Being such a large fish, his oxygen demand was going to be so much that he would have been too stressed to make the 30minute trip to the fish store.

So I had this 5 gallon tank that I placed stress guard in for him. This way there was good gas exchange.

 

nice time out.. serves him right..

although i would consider maybe getting a bucket and putting him there. ( seems like a large bucket will hold on to more water than the tank you have him in..)

 

I feel your pain on the loss of your fish. Especially, your flame wrasse. That is my favorite fish.

I was beginning to get very depressed after I thought you were going to keep him in the 5 gal. I want a purple so bad but I can't seem to get my hands on one.
Good move w/ the fish trap though, I think I may have to do that with my clown tang sometime soon.

 

well if you do a purple, follow the rule that I did not...add it last

 

My purple tang was 5th to last. So far no ill affects, its been almost 4 months But yeah, probably should be though.

 

brilliant! although i keep having a psychosomatic response to that picture. even though i know it's not true, i can't look at it without squirming! shame about the fish, he's a beauty
