I had a 4-line cleaner wrasse that had a taste for sps corals. The site I consulted before buying the fish made no mention of the fact that their diets as adults is primarily sps polyps :(

Welp, I am sure some of you more experienced reefers may have guessed by now, my BTA is hanging on by a mere thread by now. :'( THAT didn't take long.

I was not going to get it but, the hubby convinced me that it looked soooo goooood! And I had one when I had my tank before...that I would have no problem...plus he was putting up the cash..so we got it. I know better. I am posting this so others might be convinced.

I will be waiting a while before I try again. Even tho this is really the only animal that I really really want. Phhhttt :p

It ate the first day, and not after....
My water was not ready. I knew it was not. Did not have Mag/Cal/Alk/pH balanced. Got refractometer the same day as the BTA.....Hydrometer, lab glass and dip type were reading different. Refractometer told a tale of too much salinity 1.030. Tried to adjust that and needed to do water changes. Adjusting water chemistry...tank is only 4 weeks running. I should not have gotten it....I knew better. but I let others convince me otherwise....sad day for me. It died today. Shrivelled up, expelling guts....the whole works. :-[ :'(

Should have went with my gut instinct. I will be waiting now for sure.

:( Sorry to hear that. You'll do better the next time, I'm sure.

Sorry about your loss birdlady. I lost a Rose BTA as well. My GSM seemed the most affected. When I removed the leftovers of the BTA he was left wanting. Trying to host my mushrooms, xenia, and ricordia. Poor lil bugger.

Mine I suspect died from several things, heat being the first. My landlord refused to turn on the AC. Cheap glotton! >:( Temp was usually 97F or above. Second, I had little understanding as to what to feed it.

Grr. we won't make those mistakes again.

BTW, the next time something nice shows up at your lfs, something you know doesn't show up often, but you also know you're not ready for. Give a deposit on it and have them hold it. When your tank stabilizes swing by and scoop'em up. ;)
