Hi guys. So I had been working on a 5.5gallon sump/fuge for my 20 gallon for quite some time. Actually, its been finished for quite some time. But I finally have the return pump, vinyl tubing, ball valves, overflow etc coming in the mail today.

So this is probably a really stupid question but.....how do i start it up? lol.
    Fill the sump first?

yes, fill up the sump, install your pump, and kick it on. How are you feeding the water into your fuge?

I would say make sure your tank is as full as it can be before flowing into your sump and then make your sump as full as you want it to be when the return pump losses power and then turn it on that way you know you wont have the sump overflow. thats what I just did with my 75 and 20L sump :)

Thank you guys. Actually i figured it out on my own.

But now I have another problem. I'm having trouble matching the flow of my overflow with the return pump. I have the Eshopps PF Nano overflow @ 200gph. And I have the maxijet 1100. I also have a ball valve on the return pump. the pump is always too fast or too slow. And the valve on the ball valve is so tight. Every time i adjust it, i either get too much turn or too little turn on it. Any suggestions?
