I threw my UV sterilizer in because I have some cyano in my tank and put in some bioballs and a Phos-Zorb pack. Hopefully my tank will be crystal clear once again!

here is the tank ill put up a new pic when its cleared up again:

One question though! I don't know much about pods I just know they should grow with my rock rubble and chaeto algae in the fuge. I wonder if they can make it through the filter sponge at the bubble trap though! Do you think they can?

Is there a skimmer in there?

ok, I didn't see one and I thought you mentioned that you were going to have a skimmer in your sump :) I'm not sure on the answer about the pods.....

I am going to put one in, but its a kind of odd size space there so it may be a maxi-jet going into a DIY pvc housing. Not preferred but might be the best way for me to go with it.

I have the same question so I am tagging along. I have read people using bio balls in place of the sponge to allow the pods thru but I worry about excess nitrate being produced if the balls become clogged.

I just installed my Coralife Super Skimmer 65g. I put it in the return section, I assume it would make a storm of epic proportions in the fuge. been running for about 3 hours now and already pulling out some nasty looking stuff! Setting it up in my odd shaped sump was a pain and a half though! I wish I would have noticed the 2nd gen eshopps sumps before.

The Pods are not going to be able to make it through the sponge, unless they are very very small. In fact from what I was told, putting a sponge between baffles is not a good idea. if the sponge gets just a little dirty then you will have waterflow and water level issues. Unless you clean the sponge everyother day. I will let someone with more knowledge on this topic chime in. Just dont want you to have any floods.
    Looks good though!

The only concern I have with not having any kind of sponge is the return drain getting clogged with the cheato (sp?) algae. I will try it without though and see if that will be any kind of issue. Still some kinks to work out anyway.

    also thanks Oldfishkeeper!!!
