So I went out last night and bought a 55 gallon Marineland Kit with LED lights and ordered 40 lb each of dry rock and sand from Marco's. Can't wait to fill up the tank and arrange the rock so I can buy some live rock to get it going. As soon as it cycles I plan to get a pair of clowns. How long should I wait to get an anemone for them, or should I stock all of my fish first? And when is the best time to order a cleaning crew? I plan to add fire fish with a shrimp or 2, a flame anger, and some kind of black/white/yellow fish and possibly some Kardinals. Thanks in advance for all answers, advice and comments ;D

Congrats on the new tank! I'm pretty sure that you can add an anemone around 6 months to a year after the tank has completed cycling but you are going to want to upgrade your lighting before that, because I don't think the Marineland LED's are strong enough for corals/anemones. You can add your fish or the anemone first. You are going to want to add your fish slowly, so that you don't increase your bioload too fast.

I agree with waiting at least six months before adding an anemone. I would advise waiting on the clowns and buying the clowns and the anemone as a package deal. That's the only way to guarantee that the fish will be hosted.

Hey noticed no one answered your questions but from what i've researched ( planning on getting anenome soon) they require just as much intensity as sps coral( i'm fairly sure its sps anyways) but you want to aim for atleast 3 watts/ gallon I do believe, assuming that the lights give off enough parr ( this is the thing that you're really looking for) you might want to read around and see what would be best for you as each anenome is different and you almost need to choose what one you want first then get the light that would work best with it.
