i would of second guessed the tang but you had mentioned you'd be upgrading shortly. i like the idea of the sixline, they can be fiesty so i'm sure you'll have no problem with him adjusting to the damsel. on another note the sixline's can be very useful in aiding with the extermination of flatworms and bristleworms....good luck.

Good choice with your purchase of Tang and six-line Wrasse!! They are very ahrdy and excellent reef additions. You will be happy you got them. I have both of them as well, with no problems

gkw: I don't think he was sick when I bought him. I researched and researched to know what to look for in buying a mandarin. Mostly to make sure his belly wasn't sunken in, a sign of starvation. Mine wasn't, he was fat!

jonathan: I got rid of the damsel because he started immediately harassing the mandarin. I posted another thread about that fiasco. And yes I will be upgrading when the time comes. Now, the tang is only about 1".

coral reefer: I agree! I have had a six line before without any problems. I have also had a couple tangs (at different intervals) but never had any luck with them. They always got ich and died, and never ate. This one I witnessed eating live bloodworms and grubbin on a leaf of romaine lettuce before I bought him. So I feel confident I will have better luck this time, since those are exactly what I bought to feed him (the romaine I bought is organic), and he has already taken to the lettuce I put in my tank.
